Dead to Self, Alive in Christ

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” — Galatians 2:20 (NIV)


There are moments in life when we look in the mirror and quietly wonder whether we are enough. Strong enough. Pure enough. Worthy enough. Yet the glorious truth of the Gospel is this: our hope was never meant to rest upon ourselves. The Christian life is not about trying harder to become acceptable to God. It is about surrendering to the One who already gave everything for us.

When the Apostle Paul the Apostle wrote, “I have been crucified with Christ,” he was describing a profound spiritual transformation. The old life — chained to pride, fear, guilt, selfish ambition, and sin — was nailed to the cross with Jesus. In its place, a new life emerged. A life animated not by human striving, but by the living presence of Christ Himself.

Imagine that: the risen Jesus dwelling within you.

Not distant. Not indifferent. Not merely watching from heaven. Christ lives in you.

This means you do not walk through sorrow alone. When burdens press heavily upon your shoulders, Christ strengthens you. When temptation whispers, Christ empowers you. When your heart grows weary, Christ renews you. The same Savior who calmed storms, healed the broken, and conquered the grave now walks beside you every single day.

And why? Because He loved you.

Not a polished version of you. Not a future perfected version of you. He loved you at your weakest, your most flawed, your most undeserving. At the cross, Jesus stretched out His hands for the world — and for you personally. Every nail declared His mercy. Every drop of blood proclaimed redemption. The empty tomb now announces eternal victory.

Therefore, faith is no longer merely believing facts about Jesus. Faith is entrusting your whole life to Him. It is waking each morning and saying, “Lord Jesus, live through me today. Let my words reflect Your kindness. Let my actions reveal Your compassion. Let my life point others toward Your salvation.”

The world today is aching for hope. Many carry hidden wounds behind smiling faces. Many are searching for meaning in success, wealth, pleasure, or recognition, only to discover emptiness. But Christians carry the greatest news ever given to humanity: Jesus Christ is alive.

The grave could not hold Him. Death could not defeat Him. Darkness could not extinguish His light.

And because He lives, hearts can be restored. Addictions can be broken. Tears can turn into joy. The lost can come home. No life is beyond His saving grace.

So walk closely with Jesus today. Spend time in prayer. Open His Word. Listen for His voice in the quiet moments. Let His love soften your heart and transform your spirit. Then go into the world boldly — into your workplace, your family, your community — carrying the light of Christ wherever you go.

You may never stand on a great stage or preach before thousands, but your life can still become a living testimony that Jesus lives.

And sometimes, one soul seeing Christ in you can change eternity forever.

Jesus in the Way, the Truth, and the Life

"Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." -- John 14:6 (NIV)

There are moments in life when the road ahead feels uncertain. We search for direction in success, relationships, possessions, or human wisdom, yet still feel an ache deep within the soul. Into that restless longing, Jesus speaks words that have echoed across centuries with divine clarity: “I am the way and the truth and the life.”

Notice that Jesus did not merely point to a way. He declared that He Himself is the Way. In a world overflowing with opinions and distractions, Christ remains the unchanging path that leads to peace, forgiveness, and eternal life. We do not need to wander endlessly trying to earn God’s love or solve the emptiness of the heart through our own strength. Jesus has already opened the door through His sacrifice on the cross and His glorious resurrection.

When Jesus says, “I am the truth,” He reminds us that His promises never fail. Human words may disappoint, circumstances may shift, and emotions may rise and fall, but the truth of Christ stands firm forever. His love is not temporary. His grace is not fragile. His mercy does not run dry. Even when we stumble, He calls us back with open arms.

And when He says, “I am the life,” He offers more than existence — He offers abundant, eternal life. A life filled with purpose. A life transformed by hope. A life awakened by the presence of the Holy Spirit. Jesus did not remain in the tomb. He lives today. The risen Christ still heals broken hearts, restores weary souls, and shines light into the darkest places.

Perhaps you have been walking at a distance from God lately. Maybe prayer has become faint, worship has become routine, or the burdens of life have crowded out quiet moments with Him. Yet Jesus is still calling: “Come closer.” He longs for daily fellowship with you. Not religion without relationship, but a living walk together — one step at a time, one prayer at a time, one surrendered moment at a time.

Spend time in His Word. Speak honestly with Him in prayer. Worship Him not only in church but also in the hidden corners of ordinary life. The closer we walk with Jesus, the more His peace steadies us and His love overflows through us.

And do not keep this hope to yourself.

Our world is hungry for truth, desperate for hope, and weary from fear. There are people around you carrying silent pain, searching for meaning, wondering if anyone sees them. Tell them about Jesus. Tell them that He still saves. Tell them that the grave is empty. Tell them that mercy is still available today.

You do not need a stage or a perfect voice to share the Gospel. A kind word, a faithful life, a testimony of God’s goodness, or a simple invitation can become a light in someone’s darkness. The same Savior who changed hearts in Galilee is still changing lives today.

Jesus lives. And because He lives, hope lives too.

May your heart draw nearer to Him today — and may your life become a joyful witness to a world that desperately needs to know His name.

God Is Love

Fresh Revelation of Jesus' Love

It is easy to say that you love Jesus when your faith and loyalty have not been tested.

Similarly, it is easy to say that Jesus loves you when you have not undergone any trials and difficulties.

If you have found yourself failing Jesus in a trying situation, would you be able to face Him again, and find redemption and restoration by His grace? Yes, only by the grace of God (but it is better to play it safe and not presume on the grace of God).

In his first charcoal fire moment, Peter denied Jesus three times just as He had foretold.

After Jesus had resurrected, He re-created the charcoal fire setup not to condemn Peter, but to help him realised that he does not know himself that well after all and restored him to his calling and purpose. God is omniscient and He knows everything about us. We are in good hands as we follow Him with trust and obedience to do the good works that He has prepared for us beforehand.

When You Don't Know What To Do

Do you live a life of self-sufficiency? When was the last time you ask for God's divine provision, intervention or help by faith, believing that He will answer your request which are not out of alignment with His Word?

May you have a deeper understanding and revelation of God's nature and His desire for you. And, do not hesitate to approach His throne of grace and make your request known to Him.

King Jehoshaphat's Prayer

Led by the Spirit and Pray in the Spirit

If you have been a Christian for some time now, you would already form your set of ideas on what is prayer and how to pray based on the Word of God such as the following:

"If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." (John 15:7 NIV)

"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people." (Ephesians 6:18 NIV)

"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God." (Romans 8:26 NIV)
