In his sermon, Pastor Kong addressed the five common objections to the simultaneous speaking in tongues:
1. Cessationist Objection
2. 'Xenolalia-Only' Objection
3. Pastoral or Seeker-Sensitive Objection
4. Pauline-Regulation Objection
5. Least Gift Objection
In particular, the following distinction between devotional tongues and ministry tongues is highlighted. Not all of us have the gift of worship leading or prayer leading, but that does not mean that singing and praying are not for us. Likewise, not having the gift of ministry tongues to address a congregation, doesn't mean that we should not speak in tongues during a church service.
When I first encountered the public speaking in tongues, I was confused and resistant without a proper theology to understand this phenomenon back then. If public speaking in tongues is still uncommon to you, then this sermon would provide you with a robust theology to allay your objections.
Trust that you would find that public speaking in tongues would, inter alia, help your word-perfect worship, as good as they are in church, to experience a lift-off and transcend into spiritual songs and singing in the Spirit, and that the following benefits of speaking in tongues will ensue:
